Responsibilities:

This position provides broad administrative and operational support within the School of Pharmacy and the Department of Pharmacy and Health Systems Sciences (DPHSS). Primary responsibilities span four major areas (1) Provide excellent customer service and administrative/operational support to the faculty within the Department of Pharmacy and Health Systems Sciences (DPHSS), (2) Organize and execute activities related to Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) admission to the first professional (P1) year of the program, (3) Serve as the mini-Key Contact for all department recruitment/ hiring activities and handle Human Resources Management-related processes, forms, and documentation for the department, and (4) Assist with special projects across various school units. This position reports to the Director of Operations (Office of the Dean) in the School of Pharmacy, with dotted-line responsibilities to the Chair of the Department of Pharmacy and Health Systems Sciences.

Qualifications:

Post-high school education; Associates Degree preferred. Minimum of 2 - 4 years of business, health care or academic administrative experience with strong customer service skills. Individual should possess excellent communication/writing skills, with the ability to independently communicate professionally at all levels of the organization as well as externally. Proven ability to work effectively in a culturally diverse environment. Must have excellent planning, time management and judgment skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks being assigned from a variety of sources. Must be resourceful and able to work independently on a project. Must be flexible and have evidence of working positively in a team environment. Proven ability to manage confidential information and keep it secure is required. Position requires excellent computer skills with particular proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook and an ability to easily adapt to new technologies. Experience with Web Admit (admissions) platform, Publisher and Adobe software products a plus. Experience in higher education, admissions, or human resources desirable.
