Sr Research Scientist in Cyber & Resilience

Responsibilities:

The Global Resilience Institute is seeking experienced senior level researcher/practitioner in Cyber Security and Resilience Policy to identify, develop and work on funded interdisciplinary research and educational programs within Northeastern's new university-wide Global Resilience Institute (GRI). Research work will be primarily applied and involve facilitating interactions with academic, industry, and government researchers and practitioners on addressing the intersection between policy and science and technology associated with cyber security and resilience. The position provides extensive collaboration opportunities with Northeastern faculty and students and industrial and public sector collaborators, providing a unique opportunity and expectation to develop interdisciplinary research teams that link the technical and public policy challenges associated with managing risk to cyber-physcial systems and IT networks. Successful applicants who achieve early success in the position will have the opportunity to assume increasing levels of leadership as the Global Resilience Institute grows. Full funding is guaranteed for up to three years as successful applicants attract their own external funding.

Qualifications:

Graduate degree required; PhD preferred
US citizenship and eligibility for security clearance is required; active security clearance strongly preferred.
Must be able to develop a self-directed research, applied research, and development program.
Public-sector experience in cyber security policy and demonstrated ability to manage interdisciplinary teams involving academia, industry, and government.
