About the Position
The Senior Technology Innovation Consultant proactively develops and implements solutions to improve the efficiency and currency of the Lucas College infrastructure for Teaching and Learning.
Works in collaboration with the Associate Dean, Undergraduate Programs, the LCoB tech team, faculty, staff, and students to continue to build a leading edge and highly available technology infrastructure for teaching and learning at the College.
Identifies opportunities for automation and work transformation. Documents procedures, track and assess achievement of goals of technology innovations. Proactively recommends and effectively deploys complex solutions that interface seamlessly with University and CSU level systems, and fully leverages the technology resources provided by the University and CSU.
Independently manages conversations with CoB constituents (including faculty, staff, administrators and students) to elicit use cases and recommends current and emerging solutions in their courses and work activities.
Solutions will include, but are not limited to: complex integration across current and future learning management systems, PeopleSoft/CMS features such as messaging, degree progress, and campus solutions reports, campus operations software such as FTS and data warehouse, software used in courses (e.g. simulation software, statistical analysis software, Microsoft productivity tools, data visualization tools), devices such as laptops, desktops, tablets, and peripherals such as clickers, wired and wireless connectors and external storage. Proactively identify system vulnerabilities to ensure data security, facilitate backup and recovery, prepare for disaster recovery, and protect the privacy of information. Ensure that College practices adhere to CSU policy and industry level best practices. Oversee lab operations to ensure high technology and customer service levels, effective student assistant hiring and training procedures, adherence to good human resources practices, and development of relevant documentation.
