Description:

Assistant/Associate Professor of Art and Design. This position primarily involves instruction in the foundation course of two-dimensional design. Along with two-dimensional design, the candidate should be able to teach in one of the following areas: Drawing, Painting, 3-D, Sculpture, or Printmaking.

Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will teach the equivalent of a full course load per year. Courses to be taught may include, but are not limited to Two-Dimensional Design, Three-Dimensional Design, Drawing, Painting, Sculpture, or Printmaking.

Responsibilities include advising/mentoring students, curriculum development, department/university committees and assist in coordinating professional experience opportunities and internships for students. Selected candidate will also be an active participant in program review and accreditation reporting. Applicants should present evidence of teaching excellence and active scholarship and participation in the field.

Assistant/Associate

Qualifications:

M.F.A. in art/design with at least five years of teaching experience at both the undergraduate and graduate levels and a substantial exhibition history is expected. Candidate must be committed to the liberal arts educational mission and evangelical Christian orientation of the University. A commitment to excellence in undergraduate and graduate-level teaching, mentoring students, and scholarship is emphasized.

Experience:

M.F.A. in art/design, with significant professional exhibition history is preferred.

Workload:

This is a full-time faculty position on a 9 month contract.
