The Department of Civil Engineering and Construction Management invites applications and nominations for the position of Regular, Limited-Term Assistant Professor (i.e., Visiting Assistant Professor).

The Department of Civil Engineering and Construction Management supports the University mission of bridging theory with practice, extending the learning environment beyond the classroom, and promoting student growth and life success. The faculty strives to accomplish this mission through a commitment to the continuous pursuit of academic excellence as evidenced by student-centric and application-based instruction, scholarship and service.
Position Description. Reporting to the Department Chair, the primary responsibility of this position is teaching. The position requires a terminal degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field. The faculty member in this position is required to develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses (lecture and laboratory), supervise undergraduate projects, engage in academic advising, and participate in professional activities and organizations. The position is a 9-month, temporary appointment, and the salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
• Earned terminal degree in Civil Engineering, or a closely related field with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Civil Engineering or Surveying and Mapping, by August 1, 2017.
• Ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses and laboratories in the following areas: surveying, geomatics, transportation
• Excellent English communication skills (oral and written)
• Must be authorized to work in the United States for the duration of employment without assistance from the institution
• Relevant industrial experience
• Relevant professional licensing or certifications
• Previous teaching experience at the university/college level
• Experience using online teaching tools (e.g. web-based instruction)
• Record of scholarship and participation in professional activities
