GW Colonial Health Center is seeking a full time Psychiatrist to provide clinical assessment and evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients for short term and episodic care. The position includes psychiatric medication management, urgent psychiatric consultations and crisis intervention. The candidate will maintain professional working relationships with the medical and counseling team and university administrators. This position reports to the Lead Psychiatrist at the GW Colonial Health Center.
Provides crisis intervention to the student population.
Provides General psychiatric evaluations and assessments including short-term treatment, psychotherapy, medication management and referrals.
Coordinates services with primary care clinicians, counselors, and care managers within the Colonial Health Center team, Disability Support Service, and Dean of Students office.
Performs other work related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Qualified candidates will hold an advanced degree (MD, DO) and a current, unrestricted license to practice medicine in the District of Columbia, prior to start date, and board eligibility/board certification in relevant specialty. Finalists must pass credentials verification and National Practitioner Data Bank query.Additional Required Licenses/Certifications/Posting Specific Minimum Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience with young adult (college student) population is preferred.
Candidates should be knowledgeable of community resources to facilitate off-campus referrals.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational skills.
