Job Description Summary:

Facilities, a department in Division of Operation's Facilities and Campus Development under the Executive Vice President and Treasurer's portfolio, manages and maintains GW's property and grounds on all three of GW's campuses. This includes housekeeping, routine and emergency maintenance, moving services, pest control, project management, life safety upkeep, HVAC repairs, grounds maintenance, and recycling/waste management. Our maintenance team includes electricians, carpenters, painters, HVAC technicians, locksmiths, plumbers, and groundskeepers.

This position is Designated On-Site; meaning that the incumbent(s) of this position are required to physically report to work or remain at work during an emergency or adjustment to the University's operating status. Additionally, this position is a part of the Teamsters Local Union 639.

The Driver reports to the Transportation Manager and is responsible for:

-Operating sedans, vans, and trucks in accordance with traffic regulations

-Transporting equipment and supplies per requisition order to predetermined destinations and may transport personnel

-Maintaining vehicles by cleaning, gassing, lubricating, and making minor repairs as needed

-Loading and unloading sedans, vans, and trucks with a loaded weight of up to 250 pounds or may assist in loading and unloading

-Performing other work related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.

Minimum Qualifications:

Ability to speak, read, and write English is necessary.
Six months of commercial driving experience is necessary.
A valid driver's license is necessary.
Sufficient physical strength to load and unload occasionally heavy items is necessary.
