PHARMACY ASSISTANT A
Duties: Provides assistance to students, staff, and clinicians with regard to medications. Answers phones and fills request from clients, clinicians and staff. Enters patient charges in the computer, completes return request, employee purchase, and maintains files. Dispenses medications and fills prescriptions for both the hospital and Field Service. Maintains controls substance logs. Prepares unit-dose syringes and performs compounding on request. Orders supplies and maintain stocks. All tasks are performed within the hospital policies and Pharmacy SOPs. Position located in Kennett Sq., no public trans. avail.
Qualifications: High School Diploma and 1 to 2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required; certified veterinary technician and associates degree preferred; experience in pharmaceutical operation or equivalent preferred; excellent computer and clerical skills required; accuracy, mathematical aptitude, and attention to detail required; flexibility in hours to maintain adequate daily coverage; ability to lift considerable weight; interest in Veterinary medicine helpful; ability to communicate effectively with staff, faculty, clients, students.
