Employer Relations Recruitment Specialist

The University of St. Thomas invites qualified candidates to apply for an Employer Relations Recruitment Specialist position within the Career Development Center.

Responsible for the development and delivery of the on-campus recruitment process and programs. Assist students with their transition to professional careers. Develop events and programming to facilitate the connection of students with employers. Manage employer database and elements of career management software system. Co-develop and coordinate career fairs. Lead marketing efforts for on-campus events. Present workshops and classes to students and alumni. Serve as an ambassador for career development office at fairs and information sessions. This position reports to the Associate Director, Employer Relations within the Career Development Center.

Essential Functions:

  1. Oversee execution and management of on-campus recruiting program: plan and execute events to support on-campus recruiting, employer activities and events.
  2. Manage employer database including career management system, employee approvals, and resume books. Serve as the main point of contact for all employer requests and communication.
  3. Identify ways to facilitate employer-student contact through programming and special campus events.
  4. Assist students with job search skill development and employer networking through group presentations and individual advising.
  5. Engage in career development alumni initiatives.
  6. Develop and coordinate marketing strategies and efforts for on-campus events.
  7. Special projects and other tasks as assigned.

Responsible for the development and delivery of the on-campus recruitment process and, Minimum qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree in human resources, marketing, communications, business, or a related field, and three years of relevant professional experience in higher education career services, recruiting, marketing or human resources.

Knowledge of: Career development field and job search skills; web-based job posting applications; computer applications related to the work (Microsoft Office applications, and database or contact management applications); employer contacts in the Twin Cities business community; correct business English, including spelling, grammar and punctuation; effective communication techniques for dealing with the public, in person and over the telephone.

Skill in: effectively engaging employers from all backgrounds, cultures, and experience levels; maintaining accurate records and files; preparing clear and concise reports, developing marketing materials; outstanding verbal and written communication skills; developing and delivering presentations; contributing effectively to the accomplishment of team or work unit goals, objectives and activities; detail-oriented; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of the work; able to both work independently and as a team player; using initiative and independent judgment; using tact, discretion and prudence in dealing with those contacted in the course of the work; ability to effectively engage with and coach clients from all backgrounds, cultures, and experience levels.
