About The Unit: The Associate Cloud Developer is a one year term position that will serve as a member of the Emerging Technologies team, working creatively to enhance and expand our current products and create new digital services. They focus on developing digital services in the cloud, using modern tools such as Docker, git, Python, shell scripting and others, they define and build usable and high performing online services for the University. Additionally, gather requirements and lead or participate in custom design processes.

Unit Job Summary: 65% Develop, deploy, and maintain cloud-based services for the University Design, develop, and implement cloud platforms necessary to support a technically diverse portfolio of prototypes, pilot projects and new applications Collaborate with application developers to integrate code into application deployments. Help Implement new services native services on cloud infrastructure Ensure that sites are scalable and manageable using modern cloud principles Support clients and other developers 30% Work with clients to understand the application of new approaches to institutional challenges With the project team, define and document requirements for new or enhanced services With the project team, define goals, audiences, and metrics for success for services 5% Contribute to the evolution of cloud dev-ops standards and procedures at the University Develop and maintain knowledge of current cloud technologies, and trends through training and research Other duties as assigned or required.

Unit Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field OR an equivalent combination of experience and coursework required.

Unit Experience: Required: A minimum of two years of experience in an IT or web development position. Experience in web site and web-based application development, and support. Demonstrated knowledge of developing in PHP, Python, and/or Javascript Experience using a cloud infrastructure platform. Basic proficiency with linux command line. Demonstrated ability to work with end users to assess needs, define and document technical requirements and propose technical solutions. Preferred: Client management experience Professional experience within a higher education environment
