Unit Job Summary: Under the direction of the Strategic Advisor, Director of Communications & Marketing, this multifaceted communications position will be responsible for maintaining and improving the school's website including design as well as some writing, integrating web and social media platforms more strategically and in partnership with others at Lab, and designing and producing additional online, print and other materials and communications. Specific Areas of Responsibility include: Leading the ongoing improvement of and maintenance of the school's website (add/update content, enhance navigation as needed, layout content on web pages, respond to user feedback, perform site audits to ensure site performance and content are up-to-date, design new page as needed, maintain compliance with brand standards, improve appearance and functionality, etc.) Developing temporary special event sites and pages that may include various supporting architecture including embedded e-commerce tools, forms, etc. Participating in best-practice use and maintenance of institution-wide social media channels Ensuring social media integration across platforms and tools Writing and updating brief news stories and information on homepage Ensuring that the website and online outlets collectively serve as a strategic communications tool that supports the business objectives of the institution Developing content in partnership with departments (especially Alumni relations & Development and Admissions) and implementing improved design, layout, and functionality Shoot and edit videos and photos for online use (and other) as needed Design, format and distribute mass email messages and invitations Establish best practices and manage photo assets and archives Independently manage widely distributed online/email bulletins from conception to distribution Assist with miscellaneous production and creative projects (i.e. outdoor banners, online banners, flyers, misc print projects) Document events with still photography, podcast recording, and video. Edits and uploads documentation. Requires fluency with audio and video editing software.

Unit Education: Bachelor's degree required.

Unit Experience: Minimum 5 years experience in communications with specific responsibility for web assets and web content required Experience in business writing, editing, and proofreading Experience working with social media Competent with video and still photography Required Skills: Content Management Systems. Agile with writing/editing HTML5 Adobe Photoshop Adobe InDesign G Suite tools, specifically competence using Google Docs in a collaborative environment Google Analytics Social media management (FB, Twitter, Youtube, Flickr, LinkedIn) Mac OS and core tools (Photos specifically) Schoology or similar LMS Familiarity with Finalsite's composer CMS is a plus. Photo archiving software: Adobe Lightroom etc experience
