Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, a fully affiliated teaching site for the University of Toronto, is seeking a full-time mood disorder psychiatrist researcher with expertise in clinical neuromodulation, including rTMS and ECT. The anticipated start date is September 1, 2017.
The Mood and Anxiety Disorders Program within the Department of Psychiatry is situated in Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, one of Canada's premier academic health sciences centres. The Sunnybrook Department of Psychiatry integrates brain, mind and body and, through its research embedded in care, focuses on treatment of complex mood and anxiety disorders across the lifespan and neurodegenerative disorders. The Mood and Anxiety Disorders Program is respected for its national leadership in treatment guideline development, obsessive compulsive disorder, bipolar disorder research and the study of suicide.
The successful candidate should possess strong leadership skills with a capacity for team-building and fostering multi-disciplinary collaboration. The selected psychiatrist will be responsible for a combination of patient care, clinical research and clinical teaching of residents and fellows. He/She will be a clinician-investigator with a proven track record of independent scholarship in the field of neuromodulation for cognitive, mood or anxiety disorders, and with a special focus on rTMS.
The candidate must be eligible for appointment at the rank of at least Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto and should be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.
Total salary, including support for research, is approximately $300,000-$350,000/year, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
