Job Summary/Basic Function:
The Frank W. and Sue Mayborn School of Journalism at the University of North Texas invites applications for the Mayborn Endowed Chair focused on Narrative and Multimedia Journalism of the future beginning Spring 2018 or later.
The ideal candidate should be prepared to:
•Teach a minimum of two journalism classes each fall and spring semester.
•Assist students with developing portfolios and work with students to deliver at least one major research or creative project each semester.
•Help identify internships and placement opportunities for students.
•Help strengthen industry relationships and alumni networks.
•Perform other UNT duties as assigned.

The successful candidate will have a national reputation, strong current track record and demonstrated skills in narrative and multimedia journalism.

The person will be eligible for a tenure-track appointment.

The faculty member should help advance the school's commitment to preparing students for a diverse and multi-platform media environment.

The faculty member will participate in School activities and serve on School committees as needed. Excellence in teaching and mentoring students is expected.

Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must have a master's degree in journalism or a field relevant to the courses taught, at the time of appointment. Applicants must have professional experience in the journalism industry. Applicants with a master's degree in other disciplines who have extensive professional news experience will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:
A master's degree injournalism or a related field is required, and a Ph.D. is preferred.
