The Stanford Graduate School of Business (GSB) Engineering Solutions Team is seeking a talented web development engineer. To that end, GSB Digital Solutions (DS) is pursuing excellence in many key areas including online and distance learning, data modeling, analysis and visualization, revolutionizing the student experience, transforming GSB's digital presence and more.
As part of the Engineering Solutions Team, this position will be primarily focused on developing and supporting our next generation web sites/apps, both internally and externally facing, thereby contributing directly and significantly to the student experience and digital presence initiatives. The ideal candidate will be able to take a hands on, technical leadership role in web development in general and Drupal development in particular, including coding, testing, release management, cloud based hosting management and other aspects of delivering top notch web sites and solutions. Successful candidates will also have the opportunity to contribute beyond the web area as opportunities arise.
Develop and maintain all aspects of GSB web sites and applications
Collaborate closely with the rest of the engineering solutions team, DS, and GSB staff to help define requirements, plan development, and deliver high quality solutions on time
Provide thought leadership around GSB's Drupal and web development practices
Drive innovation, results, and quality across different IT projects and initiatives
Contribute broadly to the missions of the GSB and GSB Digital Solutions
Work with offshore partner on day-to-day projects
Research, evaluate, and enforce web standards for usability and accessibility. Develop and enforce programming and application design standards.
Conduct security and code reviews of applications written by other developers.

Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree and five years of relevant experience or a combination of education and relevant experience. Experience in web development and Drupal development (7 and 8) including module and theme development and installation profiles is strongly preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Experience and strong skills in Git and Jenkins
Experience with developing/maintaining responsive websites
Experience with creating and using REST/SOAP web services
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Strong technical leadership skills and ability
Agile development experience
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of web analytics tools such as Google Analytics and related analyses.
Deep server side experience with areas such as MySQL, service oriented architecture, MVC and related patterns
Experience with cloud hosting (i.e. Acquia, Pantheon, Amazon EC2, Google Cloud Platform etc.)
Experience with mobile development and frameworks
Knowledge of PHP frameworks such as Symfony
Familiarity with browser devices and platform differences and idiosyncrasies, and ability to develop workarounds to accommodate specialized user/client needs and device platforms.
