Assistant Instructor/Child Care Teacher (Part-Time Variable)

Position Category: Staff - Part-Time (Variable Hour)

Join the Wee Care Center and have a great job making an impact on young children aged 6 weeks to 12 years. You will be assisting in the operation, teaching and caring for the children. Part time employees work up to 28 hours per week and there are a variety of shifts available.

Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent plus any special certifications and/or training required in field of specialty.

Must be at least 18 years of age.

The shifts will be Monday through Friday and the hours will vary between 6:30am -1pm or 12pm-6pm.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of public education, family studies, early childhood education and best practices.
  • Skills in general principles to specific conditions in child care.
  • Ability to follow oral and written procedures and instructions.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse groups and backgrounds.
  • Ability to exercise effective interpersonal problem solving and decision making skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Physical Requirements:
Requires sitting, bending, crawling, climbing, twisting, kneeling, reaching continuously. Frequent walking, standing, grasping and fine hand manipulation.
Continual hearing, seeing and talking.
Must be able to lift 25 lbs.

Benefits Summary:
You may be eligible for a 3 credit hour or 1 class tuition waiver after 6 consecutive months of employment and a minimum of 475 hours worked. Dependents do not qualify for a waiver.

FLSA: Non-Exempt

Pay Range: $9.00
