Assistant Professor of Middle Eastern Politics, posting ID #16021
The Department of Government of Claremont McKenna College (CMC) invites applications for a tenure-track position at the assistant professor level in the subfield of Middle Eastern politics, beginning July 1, 2018. A qualified candidate, with PhD in hand or a nearly completed doctoral dissertation, would have research experience on the domestic politics or policy of one or more Middle Eastern countries, as well as expertise on the international issues that these countries face. The candidate would have sufficient mastery of one or more Middle Eastern languages to engage in the research. The candidate must have demonstrated ability to maintain an active, high quality research program and the highest standards of excellence in teaching. The teaching load at CMC is two courses per semester.
Due to the endowment that funds this position, if the selected candidate achieves tenure at Claremont McKenna College, he or she would become the Weinberg Chair in International Relations or Comparative Politics and the Middle East.
