Job Description


This position provides services and support to the Naval Space and Warfare Systems Center (SPAWAR) in Charleston SC.
Security Clearance: Current/Active SECRET clearance required. US Citizenship is required.


The Mid/Senior Application Developer will be a key member of the project team for an existing multi-module Navy decision support system.

The candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining data intensive web applications using Java, .NET and SQL Server (2012). The role requires developing new functionality as well as maintaining/updating existing code. Must perform tasks in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Must be able to troubleshoot and resolve issues in both test and production environments.


In order to qualify for this position, applicants must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities, to perform the duties of this position.

Candidate should be proficient with the .NET and MVC (Model-View-Controller) framework. Proficient with C# and Visual Basic. Knowledge of Microsoft Visual Studio, Javascript, Java, HTML, CSS is required. Experience with Team Foundation Server and GitLab is desired. Experience with Department of Defense (DoD) is a plus

  • BS/BA in Computer Science or equivalent required.

  • 3-5+ years of web development experience in Java or .NET

  • Ability to work within a team environment on a Navy Modernization project.
  • Able to work in an agile development environment and be able to shift direction as needed.
  • Comfortable interacting with government Subject Matter Experts, end-users, and customers in order to resolve issues, define requirements, and assist users with the application.
