I. JOB OVERVIEW

Job Description Summary:

ISCOPES is an evolving health focused service-learning initiative that places GW students and employees from various fields of study as well as community practitioners and neighbors from around the DC Metro Area in inter-professional learning communities to address bigger picture health issues through smarter service.

The ISCOPES Program Manager of Community Engagement and Communications leads and oversees all efforts related continuous engagement and effective communication with all of the communities and audiences ISCOPES serves, including students, GW employees, community partners, ISCOPES alumni, the ISCOPES Advisory Board, and other key stakeholders. This position makes up one portion of the ISCOPES shared leadership team, reporting directly to the Director of ISOCPES. Serves as the ultimate point of contact for ISCOPES, and ensures the long-term viability of ISCOPES through both relationship and brand/culture development.

Responsibilities include:

• Lead and oversee all efforts related to continuous engagement and effective communications with all of the communities and audiences ISCOPES serves.
• Serve as a co-manager on the ISCOPES Leadership Team.
• Ensure ISCOPES sustainability through relationship-building and brand/culture development/management.

Community Engagement and Communications
Manage the complete life-cycle of our community organization partnerships, GW employees (staff and faculty), ISCOPES alumni, and volunteers (i.e. community members) to include:
• Serving as the initial point of contact and recruiter for prospective community members
• Assessing fit between potential community members and ISCOPES
• Negotiating initial terms and ongoing modifications of agreements between community members and ISCOPES
• Managing legal affiliation agreements with community organizations
• Daily coordinating of community members and service projects including integration, communications, collaboration, representation, evaluation, and recognition, which includes:
o Managing all ISCOPES communications systems including email accounts, online archives, Google Groups, GroupMe, Collaboration Calls, and other platforms
o Designing and disseminating all digital and print marketing materials
o Analyzing the effectiveness of communications tools and relationship-building through monitoring and evaluation of analytics, engagement metrics, and Client/Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools
o Providing feedback on cue-to-cues, activities, handouts, observed interactions, emails, and so on regarding strengths and opportunities for improvement in relationship-building
o Ensuring alignment between community-identified needs and Learning Community service projects (readiness, objectives, and activities)
• Contributing to community members' capacity-building
• Transitioning community members to inactive status, as needed
Co-Manage the on-boarding, training, and coaching of Team Advocates, alumni of ISCOPES who join ISCOPES for a 2nd year as paid part-time staff who help co-facilitate the program
• Develop, organize, and co-lead team development for ISCOPES Leadership Team (ILT).
o Co-organize and co-lead annual ISCOPES leadership events and team meetings in conjunction with remainder of ISCOPES Leadership Team
o Actively demonstrate IPEC competencies, cultural mindfulness, and positive conflict practices through individual and group learning experiences
• Interview applicants for all positions related to operations, special events, and marketing/communications.

Brand Management
• Identify, evaluate, and enhance ISCOPES brand/culture for multiple target audiences
• Ensure brand/culture alignment and support among ISCOPES Leadership Team and ISCOPES Advisory Board

• Performs other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position

Minimum Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 2 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Master's degree or higher in a relevant area of study. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
