DIR, RESEARCH INTEGRATION & SPECIAL INITIATIVES
Duties: The Director is responsible for managing new and ongoing projects that are critical to the school's research mission, providing recommendations and strategic guidance for major research space development projects, including the planning and programming of existing and new facilities. Under the direction of the Senior Executive Director, the Director will manage special initiatives, oversee committees and support faculty recruitment processes for the EVD/CSO office. This includes facilitating and contributing to meeting discussions and strategy, ensuring that these critical, ongoing projects meet planning deadlines and milestones, and advising senior leadership on the direction of assigned projects and committees. The Director will also work closely with the Associate Dean for Research Integration to strengthen partnerships and opportunities for collaboration with other institutions in the local research community. Strong research background a plus. Knowledge of faculty recruitment, space management, and Penn systems highly preferred.
Qualifications: The minimum of a Bachelor's degree and 5 to 7 years of increasingly responsible administrative or project management experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required; specialization in finance, management or other quantitative or business focus preferred. Master's degree is a plus. Outstanding quantitative and qualitative analytic problem solving capabilities; strong oral and written communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with senior level officials and faculty; ability to work in a fast paced environment and manage and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously; use good judgement; and demonstrate ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. Demonstrated expertise in space reporting, data analysis, analytical tools (spreadsheets, report writers, databases), and related software. Ability to work occasional mornings, evenings and weekends, as necessary. For candidates who meet all of the above requirements, a knowledge of the Penn environment is a plus.
