Position Summary:

A Temporary Instructor provides a quality learning experience for students on a semester basis. Performs instruction-related duties and responsibilities in a timely manner and in accordance with the mission, policies and procedures of the college. The relationship of the faculty member to the student is one of teacher and facilitator of learning. Teaching and departmental/school service expected.

Department Specific Essential Job Functions:

Teach 12/12 load at all levels of the graduate and undergraduate curriculum and in online and campus-based formats.

Teaching will typically focus on starting or bringing innovations to a program but can extend beyond the parameters of the program to meet needs of the assigned college and may also include team teaching to support sharing of innovative blended learning methods with staff and faculty.

Contribute to faculty development, mentoring, and training responsibilities focused on blended learning.

Advance interdisciplinary connections and partnerships.

Develop strong connections between the program and the OKC metropolitan area and UCO Downtown.

Promote growth in courses, undergraduate and graduate programs, and student learning experiences.

Serve on department, college, university, and Center for eLearning committees as requested.

Work in a collaborative, professional, collegial manner with colleagues and professional peers.

Teach, advise, and mentor students, evaluate student performance, and maintain department and student records in accordance with university policies.

Demonstrate commitment to working in an environment devoted to transformative learning, professional development, scholarly inquiry and excellence in teaching.

Participate in department, college, university, and Center for eLearning meetings that relate specifically to faculty.

Prepare departmental reports as requested.

Adhere to the educational philosophy of the university.

Teach a minimum of two online, hybrid or IVC courses in the fall semester and a minimum of two online, hybrid, or IVC courses in the spring semester as part of the required teaching load for the academic year.


Salary Range: Commensurate with credentials and experience.
