Bachelor's degree is required.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

Three (3) or more years of related, professional experience in intercollegiate recruiting at a Division I school is required (A minimum of seven (7) years of related professional experience is required for the senior level title). The most qualified candidates will bring a combination of creativity, innovation, strategic thinking, organizational skills, budgetary experience, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to lead and instruct others.

Additional qualifications include: The ability to quickly assimilate to the Badger Family by understanding and embracing the rich traditions of UW Athletics and putting into practice positive actions that adhere to the vision and mission of the department and University. Demonstrated knowledge and commitment to adhering to NCAA, Big Ten, WCHA, IRA and University rules and regulations; ability to work cooperatively with diverse groups and administrators, faculty, staff and students; ability to develop and implement innovative approaches and solutions; ability to work well independently and in teams; and ability to be flexible in accepting new responsibilities.

Position Summary:

Under the general direction of the Associate Athletic Director for Business Development, the Director of Student-Athlete Recruitment will serve the Division of Intercollegiate Athletics in a vital role to each of the Division's 23 varsity sports programs to ensure a professional, consistent, innovative, and creative approach in the recruitment process and experience for prospective student-athletes. In this position, the incumbent will research and implement industry best practices to strategically position the University of Wisconsin-Madison as a leader in intercollegiate athletics in attracting and engaging prospective student-athletes.

This is a 100% renewable Academic Staff appointment. Salary and level will be assigned within the appropriate range, commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience.
