Boston University Academy is seeking an Assistant Director of Admission beginning summer 2017 for the 2017-2018 academic year. The primary responsibility of the Assistant Director of Admission is to partner with the Director of Admission to lead and facilitate BU Academy’s admission and enrollment management functions. Admission efforts include, but are not limited to: representing BU Academy at outreach and recruitment events; interviewing prospective students; evaluating applications and serving as a member of the Admission Committee; managing student volunteers; communicating with prospective students and families and running the full day visit program; and providing administrative support. This position is a member of BU Academy’s Institutional Advancement team and as such, will work with the Assistant Head of School for Institutional Advancement to plan and implement activities including fundraising events, development and alumni relations efforts, and constituent relations. Additional responsibilities will include a combination of student advising, leadership of student groups, and chaperoning events throughout the year, including the ninth and tenth grade fall overnight trip. The role includes significant independent decision making, collaboration with colleagues, and night and weekend commitments.

 
Required Skills
 

  • One to three years of admission experience and/or Independent school experience strongly preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license

 

Candidates should have excellent interpersonal and communications skills, strong attention to detail, and a willingness to work outside of the traditional academic day.
