General Description of Position:
This position within the Library Information and Support for Technology (LIST) Unit/IT Services, provides technology support for K-State Libraries staff, students, and patrons. Responsible for research, recommendation, configuration and maintenance of hardware and software used at K-State Libraries. Provides options to resolve workflow issues, investigates unit and departmental equipment and software needs and recommends purchases. Documents training and solutions as well as setup, configuration, processes and procedures for technology at K-State Libraries. Information about the Department:
Kansas State Agricultural College was established in 1863, which was the beginning of the K-State Libraries. With only 2,700 volumes at the time, the collected materials were moved four times around campus in buildings such as Farm Machinery Hall, Anderson Hall, Fairchild Hall, and Farrell Library. In 1926, construction began on a building with the purpose of housing only the libraries' collections. That building has been renovated three times, most recently with the dedication of Hale Library (pdf)
in 1997. In addition to Hale, there are four branch libraries: Math/Physics Library

Evaluates and prepares specifications and documentation. Performs setup, configuration, and administration of technology solutions within K-State Libraries. Trains and advises front line technicians and library staff. Assists in managing access and security to a variety of K-State libraries digital and physical resources. Works collaboratively with stakeholders across departmental boundaries. Contributes to the ongoing development of the Libraries technology infrastructure. Assists in collection and compilation of relevant statistics as directed by the organization. Provides updates and reports as necessary to supervisor. Required Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma (or work equivalent) and one year of relevant experience.
Ability to work with colleagues in collaborative and team environments as well as independently.
Evidence of problem-solving skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills. Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, or related field.
Two years Information Technology Support Experience with current hardware, software and operating systems.
Experience with both Apple and Windows Operating System Management
