General Description of Position:
The Arts & Sciences Dean's office is seeking applicants for an Accounting Specialist. The position provides direct support to the Shared Service accountant and provides accounting support to all College of Arts and Sciences units assigned to the Shared Service Center.
The successful candidate will assist the Shared Services Accountant with day-to-day accounting tasks such as bill payment, order placement, posting transactions in accounting program, month-end reconciliations and reporting of all accounting projects which allows the Center to function smoothly.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
One year of experience in accounting/auditing support work. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.
Two years training in accounting practices and business office function and 3 years of work experience within the accounting field. Working knowledge of an accounting program and of Windows applications. Good oral and written communication abilities and working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles. The ability to work within a high-volume, fast-paced setting is beneficial with strong attention to detail, organization and time-management skills preferred.
4-year Bachelor’s degree, or 2-year degree in business administration, accounting or business math.
Physical Activities and Environmental Conditions :
Normal office environment. Work requires repetitive movements to operate electronic equipment.
