The purpose of this position is to support the Psychology Department faculty and staff in fulfilling research and teaching responsibilities; to contribute to the overall effectiveness and daily operation of the main Psychology Department office; and to provide quality customer service to faculty, staff, students, and visitors. Responsibilities include: Update and maintain all aspects of the department's website; assist the Graduate Director in managing the graduate program; and provide general administrative support, which includes assisting in such tasks as planning and executing department events, managing the department's participant pool, scheduling meetings, and student time sheet approval and hiring.
Associate’s degree or higher required, as well as a minimum of three years in related office experience, preferably in higher education. Must have excellent skills in a PC environment, familiarity with Microsoft office applications (Word, Access and Excel), and familiarity with software (such as HTML, Photoshop, secure FTP, and WordPress) used to maintain and update websites. Must have excellent proofreading skills and strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, both written and oral. Must enjoy interacting with students and be able to work under pressure during peak times each semester. The successful candidate must demonstrate maturity, tact and the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
