JOB SUMMARY:


Serves as a technical consultant for the Graduate Education Programs including the Digital Production Arts (DPA) Programs at the Zucker Family Graduate Education Center (ZFGEC) and CU Restoration Institute in Charleston, SC.


JOB DUTIES:


User Support: 35% - Essential
Coordinates with College and campus Information Technology (IT) staff to provide end-user support to faculty, staff, and students. Identifies hardware and software needs, advices faculty and research teams on making cost-effective choices and supports the purchasing, installation, and configuration of identified systems. Acts as a liaison to main campus IT groups. Provide support for all Clemson programs/departments housed on the CURI campus.

Hardware and Software Support: 25% - Essential
Troubleshoots, documents, and maintains high performance, high reliability and high capacity storage solutions in support of creating and managing digital animation. Ensures commercial and public-domain software systems used in the development of graphical images and digital communications are working properly. Assists faculty, staff, and students in the usage of this software and hardware.

Training: 15% - Essential
Provides basic training to faculty, staff, and students on all hardware functionality, features, and best practices. Ensures that faculty, staff, and students are knowledgeable about IT policy and best practices, including data and security practices. Ensures that faculty, staff, and students know who to contact for what IT problems and are informed about resources available to them.

Remote campus support: 15% - Essential
Provides technical support and service to VTC conference systems for remote conferencing to satellite campuses. Facilitate purchasing and installation of replacement/new VTC systems. Work closely with other IT groups on campus to leverage Clemson's IT infrastructure, ensuring that all practices follow the policies and procedures in place at the University.

Systems Support: 10% - Essential
Provides user support for Linux-based operating systems for faculty, staff, research teams and students who utilize CECAS Linux resources. Work closely with CECAS Linux administrators to deploy and maintain remote Linux systems housed at CURI.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:


A high school diploma and experience in office automation systems, data communications system design, installation, operation, repair, sales or marketing, or processing of information in a data processing environment or related systems. A degree in a related field may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
