SUMMARY

Provide in-depth information about classes, registration, campus specific classes/programs, new programs, financial aid and act as a referral resource to colleges and departments that interested parties are seeking information about.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Provide information about the entire college system and HCCS current processes/procedures regarding the Enrollment process as well as the registration process.

Update Student Service department with current information furnished by colleges and departments.

Responsible for facilitating all departments of Student Service, regarding but not limited to financial aid, registration, online student service, admission, testing, etc.

Assist students with processes and procedures for admissions, registration, financial aid etc.

Check with departments to gain information about request that are being received to update information resources.

Monitor HCCS news for information that may be available to assist callers and update student service staff.

Act as receptionist/troubleshooter for the building and direct/refer incoming traffic to appropriate departments.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

High school diploma or GED equivalent.

EXPERIENCE

One (1) year experience in an office environment.

Prefer switchboard experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Ability to deal with a diverse population

Knowledge of Student Service processes and procedures, academic course offerings, classes and campus specific programs at each Houston Community College location.
