Postdoctoral Scholar - Sajjadi Laboratory

The Department of Neurology at the University of California, Irvine, invites applications for a post-doctoral scholar position in the laboratory of Dr. S. Ahmad Sajjadi MD, PhD. The appointment is for 1 year with the possibility of extension upon satisfactory performance. We are seeking a highly motivated investigator with previous experience in neuroimaging acquisition and analysis (MRI +/- PET scan). The candidate should be extremely efficient in working with neuroimaging analysis software packages. Priority will be given to candidates with a recent PhD in neuroscience or related fields and strong organizational and communication skills. The main purpose of this appointment is to help establish a cohort of less usual forms of dementia (mainly frontotemporal dementia) at the University of California, Irvine who will undergo neuroimaging and regular clinical and neuropsychological assessments. Therefore, background in neuropsychology and/or speech pathology will be desirable. The position requires an individual who is an effective team player, highly organized, and innovative.
Candidates must possess an advanced Degree (MD or PhD) by or prior to appointment start date.
Applicants who have a willingness to get involved with IRB communications, prior publication (first author), and strong written and verbal communication skills are preferred.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
