Department Overview
** This position is a part-time benefits eligible position.**

The Department of Art Education and Art History has 14 full-time faculty, approximately 330 undergraduates in three majors, and 45 MA, PhD, and graduate certificate students in Art Education, Art History, and Art Museum Education. It additionally serves more than 2000 students from across the university each year. Courses are offered in Denton, Dallas, and online.

Job Description
The Art Education & Art History Department at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire an Administrative Specialist II to join our team. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

* Assist students in declaring their major.
* Facilitate graduate admissions.
* Track student progress toward degree completion.
* Serve as liaison to the College of Education and the Toulouse School of Graduate Study.
* Maintain departmental records.
* Communicate with students.
* Coordinate Core and SACS assessment reporting.

Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess a High School diploma or GED equivalent and two years of general office or clerical experience. Substitution of education for experience allowed. The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are required:
* Skill in telephone etiquette and courteous communication with public, verbally and in writing.
* Skill in evaluating facts or situation to route calls/customers appropriately.
* Basic MS Office skills.
* Skill in the operation of a variety of office machines including, personal computers, telephones and copiers.
* Skill in filing and recordkeeping.
* Skill in English composition, grammar, spelling and punctuation.
* Skill in basic math.
* Knowledge of standard office policies and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications:

* Knowledge of EIS and other university systems.
