The Office of Research Integrity (ORI) at University of Kentucky is seeking applications for an Associate Director. The Associate Director of ORI is responsible for management of office staff, policy and procedure development, the quality assurance/improvement program, educational efforts, maintenance of the AAHRPP accreditation, and will be the liaison for external regulatory agencies.
As a member of the Office of Research Integrity, you will work with federal regulatory auditors regarding human subject research protections, oversee the Quality Assurance/Improvement program and site visits of research protocols. The Associate Director will assist in development of new policies & procedures for the conduct of human subject research protections, as well as reviewing and updating existing policies and procedures. When requested, the Associate Director will provide help and training to investigators, research coordinators, Internal Review Board (IRB) members and any other groups within the institution.
The qualified candidate will have a PhD in social, behavioral, medical, or related field along with four years of experience in federal and local regulations on human subject research, developing policies and procedures for human subject research program, all levels of review using human subject research, and management. An understanding of how research is conducted, specifically biomedical and social/behavioral sciences is necessary along with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Computer skills, i.e. Microsoft Office, databases, etc., the ability to maintain good working relations with the members of the research community, and the ability to work as a team player are a must.
