Job description

Duties: We are seeking a senior scientist to serve as Project Leader for research largely focused on genetic and metabolic factors lying at the intersection of cardiovascular disease and Alzheimer's Disease. Individual will design and ensure successful execution of research studies, analyze resulting data to prepare presentations and write manuscripts. This individual will be responsible for the development of new experimental approaches and techniques, as needed to achieve research goals and interact regularly with other professionals in the field. This individual will also be responsible for supervision/mentoring of laboratory research staff and students, overseeing highly complex in vitro and in vivo procedures, as well as sensitive biochemical assays. Other responsibilities include development of new research grant proposals, presentation of research at relevant scientific meetings and acting as liaison for scientific collaborations on behalf of the Principal Investigator.

Qualifications: Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Chemistry and/or Nutrition or comparable field and 5 to 7 years relevant postdoctoral experience in the field of lipoprotein metabolism required. Requires extensive knowledge and experience in lipoprotein biochemistry; researchers with experience at the intersection of cardiovascular disease and Alzheimer's Disease are particularly encouraged to apply
