JOB SUMMARY:


Performs complex business management activities for the Deans and Associate Deans of the College of Business. Serves as College Financial Officer by carrying out an array of customary and specialized support functions. Manages all financial related functions utilizing signature authority. Acts as primary business and financial affairs officer for the College. Performs other duties as assigned.


JOB DUTIES:


55% - Essential - Educational and General Budget Management: Coordinate the College of Business educational and general budget. Advises the dean and associate deans on financial matters, providing them with regular, timely and accurate reports. Manages the development and implementation of the college annual budget. Participates in long-range planning for the college. Conducts meetings with department chairs and center directors to discuss and analyze their financial responsibilities. Assumes responsibility for audit compliance. Provides assistance for departmental staff on financial matters. Coordinates CUBS training for classified staff employees. Prepares revenue projections an expenditure analysis for self-supporting accounts, maintaining them and auditing as necessary. Ensures that receipt and distribution of all funds follows University guidelines and procedures.

30% - Essential - Foundation and Grants Support:
Manages and coordinates the financial aspects of the College's Clemson University Foundation Endowment, PDP funds and all other grants, gifts and contracts in cooperation with the Associate Dean for Research and the Grants Development Officer. Advises the Dean and Associate Deans on business agreements for these accounts. Directs the budget for these accounts, monitoring guidelines and spending authority. Directs the accounting for grants and contracts in the college, both pre-award and post-award.

15% - Essential - Purchases and Accounts Payable Manager:
Directs the purchasing and accounts payable for the College in cooperation with the Administrative Coordinator I. Assumes signature authority for the College on all purchases and payments. Monitors and manages reconciliation of receipts, revenues, Budget Status Reports, Statement of Fund Balances, Budget Error Reports and other special projects. Advices on policy and procedures and conducts departmental audits, reviews and special training. Develops and implements college policies and procedures and communicates them to staff and administrators.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:


A bachelor's degree with multiple accounting courses and professional experience directing professional accounting, auditing, banking, or finance employees.

Develops Department Budgets - Responsible for developing one or more departmental budget(s). Estimated amount of budgetary responsibility in dollar amount must be added.


PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:


Master's degree with 5+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or related field.

Standard Hrs: 37.5; Band: 08 ($ 76,791 - $ 96,439)
