Provide high-level support to the Centers faculty and programs, which promote teaching excellence and innovation, foster learning, and build community at BU. Evolve as the Center grows and offers significant opportunities for personal and professional growth. CTL staff are encouraged to take advantage of educational and training opportunities throughout the University and beyond. Work associated with this position gives the Administrative Coordinator opportunities to connect with colleagues throughout the University community and also meet and work with students, graduate students, and faculty. Meet all CTL visitors whether in person, by phone, or by email with a pleasant welcome and offer to help. Schedule and coordinate administrative details of consultations, meetings, workshops, retreats, and events. Assist CTL collaborations with other BU units. Plan, coordinate, and implement announcements and advertising of Center events, by consulting with Center Director, including but not limited to posting events on CTL website, and sending them to the Center email list. Organize, manage, and record data and information related to Center programs and services as needed for reports and other documents as necessary. Update to the Centers web site when necessary. Assist Center director in desktop publishing of various publications and announcements, whether in digital or paper form, using excellent skills with Word, WordPress, and Excel among others, and learning new computer programs as necessary.

Required Skills

Bachelors degree, and one to three years of relevant experience. Excellent verbal and written communication is essential. Establishes and maintains respectful, cooperative, productive work relationships. Strong organizational and project management capabilities, including the ability to manage a variety of complex projects and priorities, coordinate with others, and follow projects through to completion. Initiative to organize, prioritize, plan, and manage own work activities according to necessary timelines and schedules. Tact and discretion with sensitive/confidential information. Ability to operate comfortably in a wide variety of roles, whether behind the scenes, or publicly representing the office in a professional manner. Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and WordPress. Ability to design, create, and maintain web pages are a plus.
