The Department of Physical Therapy at Augusta University, Augusta Georgia, is seeking a motivated individual for the position of full time (12 month), tenure or non-tenure tract Assistant/Associate Professor. Established in 1970, our Department has a long history of academic excellence through fostering student-centered learning, innovation, community service, opportunities for research throughout our state-of-the-art facilities and interprofessional collaboration.
We are seeking an individual with a record of accomplishments as an expert clinician and skilled educator to be a part of our dedicated and accomplished faculty. Principal responsibilities will be: 1) teaching primarily focused on general medical conditions and neurologic dysfunctions; 2) participating in scholarly activities; 3) participating in department, university, community, and professional service; 4) advising and mentoring students; and 5) participation in faculty clinical practice.
The Department of Physical Therapy is housed in state-of-the-art teaching and research facilities that include a driving simulation laboratory, human movement science laboratory and cardiovascular health and wellness laboratory.
Augusta University is located in Augusta, Georgia, a beautiful, modest-sized university town located on the south bank of Savannah River midway between the Great Smokey Mountains and the Atlantic Ocean. It is a historic city a metropolitan area population of around 550,000. The area is known for its balmy climate, with an annual mean temperature of 64 degrees. -Georgia physical therapy license or eligibility for PT licensure in Georgia
-Earned doctoral degree with a minimum 3 years clinical experience
The preferred candidate will be a licensed physical therapist or be eligible for licensure in the state of Georgia and: 1) have a record of teaching excellence in the classroom and/or clinical setting; 2) and earned clinical doctorate with a specialist certification or PhD/EdD/DSc.
