The School of Media and Public Affairs at George Washington University seeks an accomplished political communication practitioner to complement the School's existing faculty strengths and help prepare students for careers in the profession. We seek an individual with significant practical experience in strategic communication, political campaigning or issue advocacy (e.g. experience in crisis and campaign communication, media consulting, public affairs, polling, digital media strategy, or digital or field experiments) and the potential for teaching excellence. The position would be a full time, non-tenure accruing fixed term faculty position offered at the rank of associate professor. This will be a three-year contract renewable for one extension only.

Appointment begins as early as August 1, 2017.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate level; advising students; and performing department and university service; and remaining active in the applicant's field.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree.
2. At least five years of experience as a practicing professional in strategic communication, political campaigning or issue advocacy.
3. Potential for teaching excellence as demonstrated by teaching evaluations, letters of recommendation, or faculty presentation.
