The Medical College of Georgia’s Department of Surgery and the Georgia Cancer Service Line at Augusta University are seeking a full time faculty member at the Assistant Professor level in the Section of Surgical Oncology. The Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University is undergoing expansion in line with the Georgia Cancer Center’s initiative to achieve NCI designation. Augusta University houses a number of specialty research institutes and centers as well as extensive state-of-the-art core facilities, with a focus on genomics, proteomics and molecular medicine. Cancer Research focus is in the areas of molecular oncology and biomarkers, signaling and angiogenesis, cancer immunotherapy, inflammation and tolerance and cancer prevention and control.
Clinical research is conducted through the excellent Cancer Center translational research infrastructure, the minority based NCORP grant, participation in Cooperative Group studies, investigator initiated studies and the Phase I and II program.
Candidates should be board-certified or eligible in Surgical Oncology, with 0-10 years of experience and will complete and/or completed fellowship training in Surgical Oncology.
