Emergency Hire for School Counseling Assistant/Associate Professor
The Department of Counselor Education at New Jersey City University invites applications for an emergency hire position (10-month, non-tenured track) effective from September 1, 2017.
The position requires teaching, supervising, and advising master’s students as well as attending departmental, college, and university events. We are seeking a faculty member who has expertise in school counseling and experience in research, publication, and other scholarly activities.
Candidates should have an earned doctorate in counselor education and supervision from a CACREP-accredited university prior to appointment. Applicants should have New Jersey School Counselor Certification (or eligibility), membership in the American Counseling Association, and knowledge of the American School Counseling Association model. Teaching experience in the area of school counseling is required, as well as excellent communication, collegial, and interpersonal skills.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach 12 credit hours for each academic semester (Fall and Spring) in school counseling courses and across the core curriculum. Responsibilities will also include student advisement; service to the department, the college, the university, and the community; and participation in faculty development.
