The School of Business Connecticut Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (CCEI) is seeking a full-time Program Assistant 2, UCP 4. The incumbent will report to the CCEI Program Manager and will provide administrative, fiscal, personnel and facilities maintenance support as well program support. The position will be based in both the East Hartford/Hartford offices of CCEI and the Storrs Campus. Other occasional in-state travel will also be required in support of program events and activities. Evening and weekend hours will also be required in support of program events.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Performing office management duties; supervising the processing of administrative, personnel and fiscal paperwork; maintaining related records.
  • Assisting with the coordination of program logistics and administrative support.
  • Creating and maintaining records and/or databases for a wide range of program information; compiling data for administrative and academic reports.
  • Assisting in the preparation of CCEI budgets, managing approved budget and determining program expenditures.
  • Serving as CCEI's fiscal officer which includes but is not limited to: obtaining quotes; creating purchase requisitions; reconciling procurement card transactions; processing travel and expense reimbursements.
  • Processing special payroll transactions which includes collecting appropriate employment forms and documentation; maintaining records of employment and entering hours worked into payroll system.
  • Representing CCEI and acting as a resource to faculty, staff, other University offices and external constituents regarding program activities and program/administrative policies and procedures.
  • Scheduling and making arrangements for events, workshops and meetings.
  • Assisting with the development and preparation of publicity materials about program events and related news.
  • Coordinating the scheduling and facilities maintenance of CCEI's space in East Hartford/Hartford; assisting in planning and implementing remodeling and renovation projects.
  • Assisting with creating and updating CCEI website content.
  • Organizing program applications for CCEI staff and operating board.
  • Enrolling accepted students into programs; monitoring student records.
  • Assisting with developing and maintaining records of interaction, contacts, and progress made by Center clients as well as a catalog of resources relevant to entrepreneurs.
  • Establishing procedures to implement operational and/or fiscal policies.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in business, entrepreneurship or related field.
  • Three to five years of administrative experience in higher education, business or entrepreneurial setting.
  • Proven flexibility, initiative, good judgment and discretion and experience resolving problems efficiently, effectively and independently.
  • Demonstrated experience working accurately and meeting deadlines.
  • Demonstrated excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office products and the ability to learn new software as necessary.
  • Proven experience planning, organizing and executing events.
  • Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills, with ability to work effectively and collaboratively with students, faculty, staff and external constituents.
  • Willingness and ability to work nights and weekends.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to both the Storrs and East Hartford/Hartford CCEI locations regularly as well as other UConn campuses.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Demonstrated experience working in a higher education environment in a University setting.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting a grant funded or foundation funded program.
  • Demonstrated experience managing a database.
