Rowan University is a public comprehensive state-designated research institution with approximately 17,300 students. Its main campus is located in Glassboro, N.J., 20 miles southeast of Philadelphia, with additional campuses in Camden and Stratford. Publications:

RohrerReview:

  • Oversee publication of the RCB’s E-newsletter that is published once every two months through an online E-publication tool (currently using Constant Contact).
  • Collaborate with members of the Rohrer College of Business Community to plan and execute publication of RohrerReview.
  • Work with faculty, staff, University Public Relations to write and edit stories and to locate support materials (external links, photos etc.).
  • Maintain the RCB mailing list for distribution of the RohrerReview.
  • Publish the RohrerReview and archive to the RCB website.

RohrerNet:

  • Maintain the RCB intranet (RohrerNet) by providing access and support upon request.
  • Oversee the maintenance of the RCB calendar.

Annual Report:

  • Work with University Media and Public Relations to coordinate planning of Annual Report production.
  • Provide ancillary support to the Annual Report including writing articles, locating photographs, etc.

RCB Photographs: Maintain the RCB photograph repository including coordinating with various RCB faculty and staff who hold events on campus, and acquire additional photography as needed for publications.

RCB Website:

  • Coordinate with various RCB stakeholders, including University Web Services, to ensure information on the brochure and internally facing websites is accurate.
  • Oversee updating of the inwardly facing website as needed, including overseeing assigned student workers.
  • Author new pages in support of events, RohrerNet news articles, and various activities within the RCB.
  • Collaborate with University Web Services on an ongoing basis to ensure policies are being adhered and standards are being met.

Event Planning:

  • Serve as the initial point of contact for non-RCB stakeholders wishing to use Business Hall for events. Conduct an initial needs assessment. Seek approval from the dean or his/her designees before approving external events.
  • Coordinate with University PR around university-wide events as necessary.
  • Work with various RCB faculty, staff and other stakeholders in planning events, as appropriate. This could include:

Plan program agendas, secure and follow up with speakers, design and print programs.

Plan room arrangements. Work with Rowan facilities in obtaining necessary equipment and room configurations for events.

Work with University Publications to develop event marketing materials, including graphic art. Develop website in support of event. Create or maintain event registration site (currently using EventBrite) as needed.

Coordinate, as necessary, catering, parking, event photography, room decorations, AV, insurance, and any other necessary services.

As appropriate attend events to ensure appropriate execution.

Misc. Marketing Activities:

  • Coordinate with University Office of Media and Public Relations to identify and promote newsworthy RCB events and accomplishments.
  • Coordinate with RCB stakeholders in maintaining RCB collateral material such as program brochures, flyers and folders.
  • Maintain HUB display content, including building directory.
  • Coordinate with University Office of Media and Public Relations in developing various advertisements for use in civic organization advertisements.
  • Attend civic events with RCB table-top displays in support of RCB branding efforts.
  • Coordinate with Student Government Association to provide a Homecoming tent and activities on behalf of the RCB.
  • Organize the purchase of promotional items (such as mugs, t-shirts, etc.) as appropriate.
  • Maintain RCB social media sites.

Budget Preparation and Expense Tracking:

  • As appropriate to each of the major tasks outlined above, develop related budgets and monitor budget adherence.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree, preferably in a relevant field (PR, marketing, advertising, event planning).
  • At least two years in a relevant position (PR, marketing, advertising, event planning).
  • Ability to write clear, concise prose.
  • Basic graphic design skills.
  • Organized and detail oriented.
  • Ability to work cooperatively, across departments and disciplines.

Some travel will be required and the job entails working some evenings and weekends.
