Department of Psychology, College of Arts & Sciences part-time research assistant positions to work in Dr. Safren's Health Promotion and Care (HPAC) Lab recruiting research subjects.

Interested in helping with HIV-prevention research for gay and bisexual men in Miami? Are you familiar with the local gay bar and club scene in Miami? We’re looking for an outgoing, self-motivated research recruiter to help with active field recruitment for the Health Promotion and Care (HPAC) Lab for studies addressing HIV prevention in gay men. As a field recruiter, you will help find and approach potential participants for studies promoting the sexual and mental health of gay and bisexual men, as well as HIV prevention among stimulant-using gay and bisexual men. You will be responsible for various forms of recruitment, including but not limited to conducting outreach at local LGBTQ events and community venues (e.g. bars and clubs), managing online recruitment (e.g. through apps, social media), identifying events and venues at which to conduct recruitment, and disseminating information about our studies in other creative ways. You will have the opportunity to develop professional relationships with mental health providers, researchers, and community members.

Requirements:
• High School diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• Must be detail-oriented and able to use social media and apps to conduct recruitment.
• Must be available to work flexible hours (total 10-15 hours per week), including some late night shifts between Thursday and Sunday.
• The successful candidate will be expected to visit bars and clubs therefore must be of legal age. Communication devices and transportation are needed to communicate with the office and attend clubs and bars.
• Must be knowledgeable about local gay social venues in the Greater Miami area.
• Must be comfortable approaching and conversing with men in gay social/venue situations.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to working toward HIV prevention and care within LGBTQ and HIV-affected communities.
• Knowledge about the needs and barriers for the LGBTQ community in Miami.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are also a plus. Apply online. Position #: P100028294.
