The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for providing the proper care, preventative maintenance, and repair maintenance of building surfaces, building structures, hardware, fixtures in assigned areas and securing the Athletic Department's facilities each evening. These include outside fences to all facilities, outside doors to Hecht Athletic Center, Schwartz Center, Knights Sports Complex, Neil Schiff Tennis Center and Ron Fraser Baseball Offices. They will also be responsible for reporting any suspicious activities and making sure interior office doors are locked and lights are turned off. Initiates work orders to appropriate maintenance personnel when the nature of the work is beyond the mechanic’s capability. Assists with the completion of the work as required. Replace broken glass in doors, windows and partitions. Replace lights, fluorescent tubes, faucet washers, flush valves; repairs minor plumbing leaks and other plumbing duties. Repair or replaces damaged ceiling, wall, floor, and window coverings, including minor plaster work. Adjusts and repairs all door hardware, furniture and fixtures. Performs minor carpentry work such as hanging mirrors and pictures, installs shelves, tightening loose signs and supports, repairing handrails, trimming wood doors, etc. Paint areas that require no more than two hours to paint. Perform minor electrical maintenance such as replacing light switches, ballasts, light fixtures, wall outlets, replacing fuses, etc. Conduct routine building inspections. Conducts periodic inspections of roofs and performs minor roof repairs. Has total responsibility of assigned area. Has total responsibility of assigned area.



High School Diploma or equivalent. Two (2) years routine experience in maintenance repair of building equipment and systems components. Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience and/or certifications may be considered.
