Salary Range: Commensurate with experience

Education Required: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Management, or related field.

Experience Required: Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience as a Chief Information Officer (CIO), Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Assistant CIO/CTO, or as a director or administrator of technology in a large and complex information technology organization. Budget management experience for a department or organization and supervisory and performance management experience of personnel. Experience as a project manager or conducting project management. Experience managing information technology systems, information security, working with and establishing external information technology partnerships with businesses and community outreach. Experience working with vendors and external funding sources. A demonstrated record of experience leading an organization through effective leadership techniques and abilities.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Worker Characteristics: Earned Master's in an appropriate Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology Management, Business Administration, Management or related field; Eight to ten (8-10) years of progressively responsible experience noted above Higher Education; three (3) additional years of experience in a similar capacity or evidence of increasing leadership positions over the past five (5 years); in-depth knowledge of information technology systems, operations and information security; Excellent interpersonal communication skills with a strong orientation toward customer service and the ability to communicate technical information effectively to technical and non-technical audiences including students, faculty and staff. Strong leadership skills including problem solving, analytical and project management. Ability to work collaboratively across College branches and departments and to develop cooperative-working relationships at all levels of the institution, constituents and the public. Familiarity with current, and ability to anticipate future, applications of information technology in instruction and higher education applications. Ability to present complex information and data in coherent fashion. Ability to travel between campuses. Bilingual.

Description of Position:
The Chief Information Officer is a vital member of the Orange County Community College leadership team. The CIO holds membership on the President's Cabinet, engages in monthly one-on-one strategy sessions with the President, regularly joins meetings with the Vice Presidents and reports to the Vice President for Institutional Advancement.

The College recently enjoyed a one-time influx of more than $2.5 million in IT infrastructure funding, allowing for significant revitalization of what was an aging system. The College seeks an innovative IT professional to further enhance its more robust infrastructure to further strengthen College's operations and delivery of curricula to students.
