Youth Services Case Advisor (PT)
The Youth Services Case Advisor reports directly to the manager of Adult Education Special Programs. This position works directly with students and is responsible for coordinating the delivery of support services and advising program participants enrolled in the KCORC Youth Services program. The Youth Services Case Advisor will establish and maintain relationships with governmental and social service agencies especially the Kane County Office of Community Reinvestment.
Assist participants in achieving educational and employment goals and objectives as outlined in the participant's Individual Service Strategy (ISS).
Maintain student files as required including eligibility documents, and ISS and data entry into the Illinois Workforce Development Systems (IWDS)
Update ISS and IWDS on a regular basis in conjunction with the student.
Track and document student progress.
Maintain close communication and working relationships with program manager, KCDEE representatives, and classroom instructors and community partners.
Establish the need for and the delivery of support services to eligible students.
Advise program participants on personal, academic and career-related topics.
Assist students to improve their basic math and reading skills.
Assist in the recruitment and retention of program participants.
Maintain current labor market information to share with students.
Initiate contact with area employers to locate job openings for participants.
Develop and conduct student workshops/orientations on various topics including resume writing and interviewing skills.
Assist in the transition of students into credit courses at the college.
Assist in the placement of program participants into employment.
Compile data and complete reports as required by the college and funding sources.
Provide student referrals to appropriate departments within the college and to community resources.
Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor and Dean.
Attend workshops and meetings as directed by the Dean for Adult Education and Special Programs Manager.

Position Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Counseling, Education, Human Services or related field required. Master's degree preferred.
Two years experience in counseling, advising, social services or adult education required.
Experience with disadvantaged adults including women, minorities, immigrants, economically disadvantaged and youth.
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
Experience in a social service setting.
Job development experience preferred.
