Job Description

Advanced Cabinet Systems (ACS), a division of JGBowers, Inc. Marion, Indiana is seeking a CNC Machine Programmer/Operator for a Contract to Hire position with PeopleLink Staffing. ACS is Indiana's leading Plastic Laminate Casework and Plastic Laminate Retail Store fixture manufacturer. The machine programmer/operator is primarily responsible for producing machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies.

KPI - Job Performance Requirements
  1. Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
  2. Programs by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs.
  3. Sets-up and adjustment of machines and parts.
  4. Loads feed mechanism by lifting stock into position.
  5. Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-piece inspection, and sample workpieces; adhering to established standards.
  6. Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
  7. Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
  8. Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
  9. Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  10. Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
  11. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
  12. Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  13. Read, interpret, and understand architectural drawings and specification documents
  14. Knowledge of Cut Rite software or equivalent/CNC machines
  15. Understand estimating and production as they relate to shop drawings, material yield, and labor
  16. Produce well-written and effective email communication
  17. Must maintain a positive attitude even in difficult circumstances
  18. Must be a self-starter with excellent problem solving skills
  19. Communicating with Management, Supervisors, peers, using proper chain of command
  20. Machine operator will identify possible problems with designs and construction and communicate with necessary departments
  21. Be familiar with cabinet construction and drawing requirements to adhere to the industry's governing bodies (AWI, QCP, LEED, FSC, etc.)
  22. Willingness to contribute above daily tasks to help company to meet tight deadlines
  23. Must produce top quality work
  24. Must interact appropriately with internal and external customers
  25. Must represent the company professionally in various venues
  26. Ability to tell when something is wrong or likely to go wrong

KPI - Technical Requirements
  1. Understand and apply complex math and measuring calculations necessary for use in your job
  2. Understand and utilize computer and technology necessary for your job

  4. Operate all necessary software including CAM, Cut Rite, Excel, Word, Outlook, etc
  5. Furnish any miscellaneous supplies or tools necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Three to five years of CNC machine operating experience
  2. Knowledge of Cutrite and Woodwop software a HUGE plus
  3. Knowledge of MS Office, specifically word, excel, and outlook
  4. Effective oral and written communication skills
  5. Innovative and self-motivated
  6. Excellent communication and organizational skills
  7. Sound knowledge of cabinet construction
  8. Great attitude and willingness to adapt to an ever-changing environment
  9. Must take ownership of projects and be committed to positive outcomes
  10. Ability to get along with team members/actively seeking ways to help others

WORKING CONDITIONS & SAFETY
  1. Fast paced environment
  2. Some travel is required
  3. Overtime is required on a regular basis
  4. Work may be performed in an office setting and at job site locations

SALARY AND BENEFITS

JGBowers, Inc. DBA Advanced Cabinet Systems offers a competitive salary benefits package. The starting pay for this position is $13.00/hr to $16.00/hr DOE.
