Job Description Summary

A tutor's overall objective is to support the department's goal of providing students with supplemental academic support.



Job Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Provides one-to-one and small group tutoring
• Develops and implements non-credit workshops
• Conducts "class visits" and assists with publicizing services
• Assists in the maintenance of records
• Completes all necessary paperwork accurately and according to stated deadlines
• Assists in the development and maintenance of departmental instructional materials.
• Performs other duties as assigned

• Education consistent with the department needs

• Possess strong organizational and time-management skills
• Possess excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

• Demonstrated basic proficiency in Ad Astra or an equivalent program
• Demonstrated basic proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Ability to confidentially and discreetly handle subject matters requiring privacy and sensitivity

• Possess sensitivity to appropriately respond to the needs of a diverse population
