RESEARCH INVESTIGATOR SR
Duties: Responsibilities include leading scientific research into fundamental questions of chromosome biology using a range of cell biological, genomic, and biophysical techniques. This position requires extensive experience with cell culture, including cell cycle control and live cell imaging, and standard molecular biology techniques. The Research Senior Investigator will manage students and will participate in writing grant proposals and manuscripts.
Position is contingent on continued funding.
Qualifications: Highly advanced professional discipline. Ph. D. or equivalent doctoral degree and 5 years to 7 years of experience beyond the PhD is required. The candidate should have demonstrated experience applying quantitative approaches to biological questions. Expertise in hydrogen-deuterium exchange mass spectrometry is required. The successful candidate will have experience in next-generation sequencing approaches such as ChIP-seq including library construction and sequencing analysis. The candidate must be proficient in MATLAB or other programming language such as Python and R and should be familiar with using the Linux command line. The candidate should have experience with gene editing using CRISPR.
