The Department of Radiology & Medical Imaging at the University of Virginia seeks applicants for a tenure-ineligible or tenure-eligible fellowship-trained Neuroradiologist. The incumbents will be responsible for clinical work, teaching residents and fellows, and participating in research. The incumbents will also see patients for specialized procedures. Clinical responsibilities will involve all areas of adult and pediatric diagnostic neuroradiology, including teaching and academic endeavors. Rank, tenure status and compensation are dependent upon qualifications. To be considered for a tenure-eligible position, applicants will need to demonstrate peer-reviewed publications and ultimately a record as principal investigator for extramural grant and clinical trials funding.
Candidates must have an MD, be fellowship trained in Neuroradiology, board-certified/board-eligible by the American Board of Radiology (ABR), and be ABR CAQ eligible. Candidates must be able to obtain a license in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Candidates must be able to demonstrate their experience and ability in performing CT and fluoro guided head/neck and spine procedures. Two-year fellowship training in Neuroradiology with familiarity with advanced imaging techniques would be preferred. A significant interest in research and a track record of research funding are strongly preferred.
The UVa Health System has a large world renowned neuro-sciences staff, including neuroradiologists, neurosurgeons, and neurologists, MR physicists and ENT surgeons, and is a referral hospital for the Mid-Atlantic region in neurological, neuro-oncological, craniofacial, and otolaryngological care. There is an active neuroradiology training program with five ACGME approved neurodiagnostic fellowship positions.
