The Center for Advanced Study of Teaching and Learning (CASTL) in the Curry School of Education seeks applicants for multiple Research Specialist (Wage) positions in Fairfax County, VA. The FP3 Research Specialist (wage) assists with on-site activities of the FP3 Project in Fairfax, VA. Incumbents conduct observations within elementary classrooms and individual child assessments, collect data using project guidelines, and upload collected data.
An associate's degree or equivalent coursework is required, a bachelor's degree is preferred. At least one year of experience performing direct work with children in either an educational setting or an out-of-school setting such as a summer camp or an after school program is preferred. Early Childhood or Social Science research experience is strongly preferred. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are required. Strong organization skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with a diverse population are essential. Reliable transportation for traveling between schools (mileage reimbursed) is required. Ability to use and troubleshoot with technology, including laptops and tablets, is required, as is knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word). Written and speaking fluency in Spanish is preferred. Certification in Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS) Observers by Teachstone Training, LLC is preferred. Applicants must be able to attend training in Fairfax, VA.
