Jobs in this career family provide direct professional support for the teaching and/or educational service mission of the university. Functions include academic advising/counseling, student personnel administration, recruitment and admissions, registration, financial aid, faculty affairs, library services, curriculum administration, and others involving direct support of the educational mission of an academic unit.

Professionals at the entry level are responsible for exercising discretion, analytical skill, personal accountability and responsibility in a wide range of areas including academic, administrative, managerial and student services functions. Work involves creating, integrating, applying and sharing knowledge directly related to a professional field.

At the entry level, duties are limited in scope and are performed with guidance and direction from other professionals and are performed in a training and development capacity.

Position Emphasis:

This position functions as part of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences' Dean's Office team, working closely with the Dean, Associate and Assistant Deans, department chairs, program directors, faculty and CLAS advising on projects relating to Academic Affairs. This position supports all of the departments and divisions offering undergraduate and graduate major, minor and certificate programs within CLAS and handles a variety of other duties to support student services. This position coordinates, manages and monitors all course scheduling and rooming, curriculum and development materials, registration and enrollment and is the transfer articulation, degree audit and catalogue point of contact and editor, coordinating all related matters for the college with the Office of the Registrar. This position is also responsible for understanding the planning, analysis, and information management needs of academic and administrative decision makers within CLAS, and leads efforts to implement identified solutions in the most effective and efficient means possible.

Salary and Benefits:

The hiring range for this position has been established at $34,106 to $53,587 and is commensurate with skills and experience.

This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2 years of professional experience in an office or University setting.
  • Experience working with course scheduling and enrollment data.
  • Experience working with faculty.
  • Experience working with transfer articulation and degree audit.
  • Demonstrated experience in effectively handling confidential, sensitive and FERPA protected data.
  • Experience using PeopleSoft Campus Solutions or a similar student information system.
  • Familiarity and experience with university structure (Registrar, Bursar, Student Affairs, Academic Affairs, etc.).
  • Experience using Darwin Degree Audit or similar Degree Audit programming software.
  • Experience using Transfer Evaluation Systems, Transferology Lab and U Achieve or similar Transfer Articulation programming software.
  • Experience handling, analyzing and interpreting large amounts of data and data visualization software similar to Cognos reporting systems, Educational Advisory Board and Tableau.
  • Experience using catalog editing software similar to Acalog.
