Linux Systems Administrator

Position Description
Position Summary:
The System Administrator will provide sustainment services in support of a DoD Red Hat Enterprise Linux web application hosted in Amazon Web Services.

Principle Duties & Responsibilities:
- Monitor and maintain system servers and operating system within a cloud hosting environment. This includes OS patching, updates, and DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) management.
- Monitor application performance and resource utilization using provided tools and report potential issues to application owners.
- Provide initial help desk triage and coordinate trouble ticket resolution with application owners. Work closely with application owners and system users to ensure rapid resolution and highly professional customer service.
- Perform back-ups following established processes.
- Support shift work to maintain 24/7 coverage of duties.

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Must have at least three or more years experience in RHEL system administration
- IAT II certification requirements (Security +, CISSP, CASM, CEH, etc)
- Experience in implementing DoD STIGs

Additional Requirements:
- Ability to successfully complete the CGI Background Investigation to include; 50 State Criminal, Education and Employment; Additionally, your ability to successfully complete a Credit and/or Driving Records Checks may be conducted if required by the contract for continued employment.
- Possession of an ACTIVE SECRET security clearance with a Special Clearance Investigation is required to begin employment; US Citizenship is required.
- Demonstrate sufficient knowledge and experience to appropriately apply a methodology to projects that have reasonably well-defined project requirements and deliverables
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products and SharePoint
- Ability to successfully complete drug testing based on contract requirements.
- Ability to establish working relations at all organizational levels. Demonstrate ability to diplomatically and effectively deal with Government officials and program office stakeholders.
- Self-motivator with ability to work as part of a team or independently with little supervision or direction.
- Professional oral and written presentation skills
- Attention to detail and effective problem-solving skills

Desired Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or Business
- Experience in DoD projects and communications
- RHEL System Administration certification Your future duties and responsibilities
